The name and concept of Illustrious started out as an idea in HuanLe's mind, then grew to the union of many talented postermakers to create one incredible graphics requesting website. Illustrious was first hosted by the wonderful Julia and enjoyed many months of success. It was a hit with everyone who needed a poster and wanted to request from a place where quality was guaranteed.

The first members of the first Illustrious Family were: HuanLe, Soy, Demi, Christy, Helly, Anky, Zoe, Chi, Julia, Jackie, Daisy, and Lorena. Then we added many more members to the family such as Kitty, Hellome, Kumi, Jewlie, LingLing, and the list continues to grow.

The site became so huge that Illustrious expanded into a forum, first hosted for free, then by a fan who later caused Illustrious' demise. For a long time, the forum both flourished and perished under his relentless control, and then finally on October 30, 2008, he failed to reach agreement with the original staff and so he closed down Illustrious in a most non-civil manner.

Many members, loyal fans, and visitors were confused. Was this the end of Illustrious? Where would everything go from here? Luckily, the Illustrious Family is full of wonderful and talented people who not only have passion for graphics, but also for relationships, and that is why we chose to continue Illustrious. Now it is back in our own hands, managed only by the members of the Illustrious Family and no one else. We see a bright future for Illustrious, and the hardships we once faced have only made us stronger.

Illustrious was started on January 29, 2006 and it will continue to live on.
